Pigs In Blankets ~ My Way

Here's another simple ~ but time consuming ~ dinner idea.  I bought a package of little sausages, and cut them in half lengthwise.  I then made a batch of biscuits (I use Jiffy baking mix) and shaped them into little rectangles.  Kasi helped me do that.  Then I added either cheese sauce or bbq sauce to the biscuit mix and wrapped it around the sausage.  I baked then at 450 degree for about fifteen minutes, and they were delicious!  I preferred the bbq ones, and the few that I put bbq and cheese sauce on.  The plain cheese ones tasted bland to me.

They look good, don't they?

OMG Mmmmmmmmmm this looks seriously tasty. I've never made pigs in a blanket-are the little sausages like cocktail weiners?

Tara Beaulieu ~ yes...in fact, I find the sausages right next to the little wieners. You could use the little hot dogs, too.

Auntie E ~ my kids love them! The only bad thing is that it takes a while to wrap them.

Hummm...Looks really yummy!
I cook this recipe with minor changes, dough and sauces mainly.
I didn´t know it had such a funny name as Pigs in Blankets. Still laughing about it :)
Thanks for sharing your version, bbq sauce sounds nice...gotta try it out next time.

We make these and love them but have never used cheese sauce or BBQ sauce just cheese. I'll have to try them your way and see what the family thinks.
